Province-Specific Services: Prince Edward Island

In accordance with the MPHEC Act (Section 18, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island; Section 19, Nova Scotia), the provinces have the option of paying grants to the institutions, either directly or through the MPHEC. Under this provision, the MPHEC is responsible for administering the post-secondary education budget for the Province of Prince Edward Island. The amounts for operating assistance and transfers are provided to the MPHEC by the Province. The MPHEC administers the post-secondary budget throughout the year, including the Province’s committed funds.
